Spring is Here! New Updates, AOTM, etc.

Luis March 31st, 2008

Whew, I’ve been really neglecting my site as of late. In fact I pulled the bulk of my links on other sites until I got it back up to a respectable level of freshness. I have finally dedicated enough time to overhaul some things and I am finally beginning to feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

First on the list was redoing the animation view window, the previous version was all that was left over from the previous redesign in 2006. It was very inconvenient to make new pages, the css was needlessly complex and a plethora of other issues. I fixed all that up and now I no longer have to dread creating a new slot anytime I have a new animation. I went ahead and added all the animations I had done that I hadnt gotten around to including for quite awhile. Among those is Introduction to Ajax, a short little animation that I had yet to release publicly. Also in the batch of updates is Castle Crashing the Beard, a game I made with my good friend Nick, aka BoMToons. The game is proving to be the little engine that could, its been getting quite a bit of coverage. The most recent of plugs can be found on Fox News’ podcast. It’s amazing how much more power games have in terms of making the rounds in the web.

Anyway be sure to check out my interview with good friend and fellow animator Sean Montela. He is this months featured artist.

In regards to my current projects. I’ve been working on a slew of games, one of which will be out later this month. I’ve also got a collaborative project going on with my pal Connor Fleming.

Brainwash Studios 4.0 - soft launch

Luis November 4th, 2007

Well I was working on my site over the weekend and I felt that I could go ahead and release a soft launch. I’ll continue diligently filling up areas that still have some gaps, but atleast you’ll be able to enjoy the core of the site. The toons section is fully functional as, as are half of the artist of the month features.

Areas like contact photos and tutorials are still in production and will be done in the next week or so but since they arent the core of the reason people visit the site I felt comfortable launching the new site and just filling it in.

Feedback is of course welcome and one of the major parts of this release is finally being able to comment on things live.

Theres bound to be broken things or bugs, so just play as my eyes and ears while i sort em.

Be sure to check out the new and improved Artist of the Month: Rtil

NG Rumble: Now available here

NG Rumble

Well I sort of sat on this task in terms of urgency, but I finally got around to making NG Rumble available for play here. I would have had it up sooner but i chose to wait until NegativeOne got around to fixing a few bugs and adding a new character in. BTW that artwork is by Mindchamber, it seemed fitting!
Enjoy!
